There were 13 minutes of applause that greeted the opening of the season at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan last night. On stage "Boris Godunov" by Modest Musorgsky, conducted by Riccardo Chailly and directed by Kasper Holten.

The performance was also attended from the central stage by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, who received a five-minute ovation from the standing audience, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, as well as the President of the Senate Ignazio La Russa and the mayor of Milan Beppe Sala. Before the start of the show, the Italian anthem was played, followed by the European one.

In the room, many personalities from the world of culture, economics and politics, including the Ministers of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano, of Education Giuseppe Valditara, of Economic Development Adolfo Urso, of University and Research Anna Maria Bernini. And again the senator for life Liliana Segre, Alessandro Baricco, Roberto Bolle, Luca Formenton, the architects Stefano Boeri and Mario Botta; and then Mario Monti, the president of Rai Marinella Soldi with CEO Carlo Fuortes, the actors Stefano Accorsi, Sonia Bergamasco and many others.

When the curtain closed, the audience applauded all the performers for a long time, especially the protagonist, Ildar Abdrazakov (Boris) together with a large Scaliger choir (the Russian people) directed by Alberto Malazzi, with that of children instructed by Bruno Casoni; then Ain Anger (the monk Pimen) and Dmitry Golovnin (Grigory) and all the other performers.

Applause also for Maestro Chailly and the authors of the show: the director Holten, the designer of the sets Es Devlin and the one of the costumes Ida Marie Ellekilde.
