Silvano Loia, a 52-year-old manager at Rai Way and partner of actress Francesca Neri, is the man who drowned yesterday in the sea between Tarquinia and Montalto di Castro, on the Viterbo coast.

The alarm was raised around 11 a.m. by a group of friends who were with Loia on a beach in Sant'Agostino, Tarquinia, when they saw him fail to return after he had entered the water to swim.

The rescue operation was immediately activated, and the area was patrolled by a firefighter's vessel and jet ski. A coastguard patrol boat and a helicopter were also deployed.

Around 7 pm, the lifeless body of the 52-year-old was found a few meters from the shore in Montalto di Castro.
