Journalist and former mayor slaughtered in his garden: "He had discovered the thieves in the house"

A journalist and former mayor of the Lodi area was slaughtered last night shortly after 10 pm in the garden of his home in Corte Palasio.

Pierangelo Repanati, 57, was killed with two blows to the throat: the neighbors heard the cries for help coming from the garden, someone immediately rushed to see what was happening, and found the victim's body lying on the ground close to the front door .

A professional journalist, Repanati was mayor of Corte Palasio from 2004 to 2009 . He lived alone and was currently working as a consultant in a studio in Lodi.

On the spot the carabinieri and the magistrate on duty. The hypothesis is that the man was attacked and killed after discovering thieves in his home .

The fellow citizens yesterday found themselves in front of the victim's house, incredulous of what had happened: “He was a good person, he lived with his elderly mother who passed away. Recently he had insisted that the celebration of Mass in Latin return to the abbey of Abbadia Cerreto, a few kilometers from where he lived. He was a very believer, a practicing Catholic ”.
