A large shipment of drugs was intercepted by the Frosinone State Police who arrested two "unsuspected".

The investigators had learned of the arrival of a load of drugs from northern Italy directed to supply the market squares of lower Lazio and had partially reconstructed the license plate of the vehicle used for transport. Then they controlled the motorway network with a series of targeted services. The Opel Astra was blocked on the A1 early in the morning, towards Arezzo. On board a 38-year-old and a 40-year-old, who immediately appeared agitated and undecided about the answers to be given to the policemen's questions. The dogs of the canine unit were brought to the scene but they did not manage to smell the drug which, it turned out later, had been treated with special substances, covered with a layer of silicone and detergent. But the Flying Squad did not give up and in the subsequent verification with a scanner, 11.2 kilos of cocaine hidden among the metal sheets turned up.

The substance was very pure and marked with the initials "T55". If placed on the market it would have yielded around 2 million euros.
