Inmate sets fire to a cell, 4 agents intoxicated

A prisoner set a fire in his cell at the Vigevano prison, in the Pavia area, and four prison officers were poisoned.

Two nights ago, around 3am, the cops noticed the smoke and rushed into the ward to put out the flames. After the surgery they were rescued and taken to hospital, their condition is not worrying.

Yesterday, however, in the same structure located in the Piccolini hamlet, an agent was attacked by an inmate waiting to be examined by a doctor. Probably unnerved by the time elapsed, the man grabbed an object like a knife and threw himself at the policeman, causing wounds believed to be curable in 20 days.

The unions, after these two episodes, are ready to proclaim a state of agitation to denounce "the conditions in which the agents are forced to work".
