A story that, if confirmed, could rewrite one of the most controversial chapters of the Garlasco case. New testimony threatens to undermine the alibi of Andrea Sempio, a friend of Marco Poggi, Chiara's brother.
According to the statements of a previously unheard "super witness," the parking receipt for Piazza Sant'Ambrogio in Vigevano , previously considered a key point in his version of events , was not Sempio's. The man, interviewed in recent days by the Carabinieri of the Milan Investigative Unit, coordinated by the Pavia Prosecutor's Office, allegedly said he knew for certain that the ticket was given to Sempio by someone else. Consequently, it was not he who, on the morning of August 13, 2007, at 10:18 a.m., collected the one-euro ticket from the parking meter that was supposed to prove his presence in the city.
If this story were confirmed, it would undermine the alibi provided by Sempio and his parents, who claimed that the young man, then nineteen, was not in Garlasco but in Vigevano, driving to a bookstore. According to the defense, the ticket had been kept by his mother for a year and then presented to the Vigevano Carabinieri during an interrogation.
