«I'm finally free, I'm in the mountains, in the woods. I'm regenerating myself and getting back in touch with myself." Thus begins the video message from Ilaria Salis, a former prisoner in Hungary and freed following her election to the European Parliament on the list of the Green and Left Alliance after her candidacy (also) in the constituency of the Islands, including Sardinia.

She thanks those who were involved in the campaign for her ("I appreciate it very much"). Salis is receiving numerous requests and invitations «but I am not always able to respond. The prison first, the media attention and the centrifuges of Brussels and Strasbourg are taking a lot of energy from me: now I need to collect myself before going back to fighting with more determination than before. We will have the opportunity to meet as early as September", says the MEP.

He also talks about Maja T., a German anti-fascist activist accused like Salis in the Budapest trial for attacks on neo-Nazi militants during the commemoration of the SS: «A special thought for her, who is still at the bottom of the well».
