He had made it all up. That macabre message which appeared on a ballot paper on 25 September last year, in a polling station in Villasanta, Brianza, was a way to raise a media fuss for having felt disappointed by politics.

“For the police, I killed a man and buried him. North area construction site, give him a Christian burial, please", read the writing which immediately triggered a series of investigations and checks. I concluded, in these hours, with the denunciation of the author, a 31 year old, for self-slander.

Thanks to police checks, with handwriting tests and expert reports, some fingerprints had been identified. In the meantime, at the construction site indicated by the mysterious author, inspections had been carried out in search of a possible corpse. But nothing had emerged.

In the last few hours the turning point: when the voters of polling station number 5 in Villasanta were called to have their fingerprints taken, the man confessed everything.
