A one and a half year old boy died in hospital, where he had arrived in very serious conditions, after being hit by the car driven by his father who was reversing in the courtyard of the house and did not notice his little son's presence.

The tragedy happened in Dosson di Casier, in the province of Treviso.

After the accident, the parents immediately alerted the emergency services. Once the little boy - Matteo Vidali - arrived at the hospital, he was subjected to almost an hour of resuscitation attempts. He was then placed in intensive care.

Unfortunately, however, the traumas - particularly those to the brain - proved fatal. The death occurred on Tuesday evening.
