Terrible accident last night in Filo di Argenta, in the province of Ferrara.

A 62-year-old man had left the house to clear a manhole from all the debris that had accumulated there for the storm but, for reasons yet to be ascertained, slipped in and died.

The alarm was raised by his wife, who had reached him worried not seeing him return. The woman saw the body and asked for help.

Firefighters intervened on the spot and extracted the victim from the already lifeless manhole.

The magistrate on duty ordered the autopsy.
