A 74-year-old man, Giampaolo Bregante, shot his wife, Cristina Marini. After the murder, he went to the police and confessed.
According to initial reports, the man said he killed his wife to "put an end to her depression and because his wife refused to take her medication for treatment."
The 118 doctors and the Carabinieri of the investigative unit arrived on site. The military are coordinated by the prosecutor Stefano Puppo.
