When the work shift can save your life. It happened in Livorno , where a 118 doctor , on duty in an ambulance, suffered an illness and, after a checkup, realized he had a heart attack in progress .

The doctor , a 42-year-old, was working the night shift like many other times in the via San Giovanni association when, at a certain point, he felt ill: the recorded parameters highlighted the ongoing cardiac crisis.

The other volunteers immediately alerted the 112 operations center and communicated that the emergency doctor had a heart attack. Having notified the station, the 42-year-old was transported to the emergency room in red code and then transferred to the cardiology department where he is hospitalized in serious but stable conditions.
