He kills his 7-year-old son and locks the body in the closet. The note: "Daddy forgive me"

"I'm sorry, forgive me dad."

These are the last words written by Davide Paitoni, the 40-year-old arrested for killing his 7-year-old son and trying to kill his ex-wife in the province of Varese, written on a note left on the child's body, locked in the closet. A short letter in which the man confessed his gesture and expressed "great contempt" for his wife.

The woman had asked for separation after 6 years of marriage, a decision he did not agree with. For this he had wanted to punish her in the most inhumane way possible: by killing their child, with a stab in the throat. Then he went to the house of the 36-year-old ex and tried to kill her too.

The 40-year-old was under house arrest for stabbing a work colleague in the back at the height of an argument in late November. For New Year's he was allowed to be alone with his son "as required by the separation measure", say the carabinieri.

As for the alleged mistreatment of his wife, there had not been a direct complaint from her, but on the basis of some reports from others the red code had been triggered.

THE RECONSTRUCTION - Last night   Paitone took up a large knife and struck a fatal blow to the throat of his son, who bled to death in a few moments. He wrote the note and closed it in his closet along with the little body of the little one.

He sent his father a voice message ("I hurt Daniele, don't open the closet"), then got into the car and drove to Gazzada Schianno, where his ex-wife had moved. He warned her, telling her he was bringing her son back, but it was just an excuse to meet her. When the woman opened the door of the house, he threw himself at her, hitting her repeatedly in the face and body, with the same knife used to kill the child, and ran away. She, rescued by her parents, was transported to the hospital in Varese, fortunately she is out of danger.

When the carabinieri arrived at the house of the first crime, they found the obvious traces of blood. No trace of the child, until they opened the wardrobe and made the tragic discovery.

THE ARREST - The manhunt started immediately: Paitoni was intercepted while wandering with his car. He tried to ram the carabinieri, but they managed to stop him.

In the car the man still had the knife and a dose of cocaine, which he has been using for some time. Subjected to arrest for suspected crime, the 40-year-old was taken to prison.
