A sixty-year-old worker died in a hospital in Perugia after falling seven meters from the roof of a warehouse in Taverne di Corciano.

The man, as reported by Simone Pampanelli, general secretary of the CGIL of the Umbrian capital, was carrying out work when he fell due to a failure. Transported to the Perugia hospital in red code, he was hospitalized in intensive care where he then died.

"We cannot continue to endure this daily dripping", emphasizes Pampanelli. "Just ten days ago we saw another 65-year-old worker die crushed by panes of glass in San Giustino. Deaths that add up to the others at the beginning of the year and at 7pm in 2021 in our province. And in the first two months of the year "Inail has recorded a frightening increase in accidents, of almost 20%. It is clear that this alarming trend must be stopped immediately. It must be the goal of everyone, starting with the institutions, to immediately stop the massacre".

For Pampanelli "it is essential to awaken consciences and set in motion concrete and immediate actions to ensure health and safety in all workplaces".

Investigations coordinated by the Perugia prosecutor's office are currently underway. Hypothesized - the Office announced - the crime of manslaughter aggravated by failure to comply with the legislation on accidents at work.
