A 13-year-old goalkeeper for Volpiano Pianese was attacked and beaten by the parent of a player from the opposing team and ended up in hospital .

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon on a football pitch in Collegno (Turin) , during a match in the Under 14 tournament between Csf Carmagnola and Volpiano Pianese.

At the end of the match, won 1-0 by Carmagnola, a scuffle broke out among the young players. It was then that the man, the father of a Carmagnola player, climbed over the fence, entered the field, approached the Volpiano goalkeeper, and punched him in the face, continuing to kick and punch him even as he lay down . The man, who was identified, was arrested by the managers of both teams. One of them was injured after receiving a punch.

The young goalkeeper was taken to the Martini hospital in Turin, where doctors found a fracture of the malleolus and cheekbone .

The Carabinieri are investigating the incident and have identified the parent. The person who reported the incident was Andrea Mirasola, coach of Carmagnola. The club's president, Alessio Russo, announced that both father and son will be removed from the team and that the club will join the lawsuit as a civil party: "That person represents us neither as a member nor in terms of our values. Unfortunately, we've found ourselves with a moron in our home, and he deserves a lifetime ban."
