Driving the vehicle was the man who - shortly after - would have raped her on the street . The victim is a 28-year-old saleswoman , who was on her way to the supermarket where she works in Cornaredo , in the Milan area . The attack took place on 4 January when the young woman, who was supposed to cover the first shift - that of dawn - left the house around 5 in the morning . According to the allegations, the 35-year-old Ecuadorian resident in Rho (Milan) first followed her by car and then waited on foot, in the dark, to throw her on the ground in the market parking lot .

Freeing herself for an instant from the attacker, the victim started screaming , attracting the attention of her colleagues who rescued her while the man managed to escape . However, his car was immortalized by video surveillance cameras and the Carabinieri managed to track him down on the street, in Rho, on the following 9 January, driving the same car, without a license and drunk . In his home, the soldiers found the clothes he was wearing on the day of the violence. The alleged perpetrator was arrested .
