A half-million euro heist was foiled on Christmas Eve in Monza. The authors? Two girls aged 16 and 12 of Slavic origin.

The young sisters had managed to tamper with the lock of an apartment in the center of the city of Brianza and, once inside, they had raided Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Prada bags, gold and diamond jewelery and some Rolex and Patek Philippe watches. Then they walked away. But the owner, who returned a few minutes later, found the lock tampered with and the house turned upside down. Then he went down the street and saw the two girls walking away with two full bags. Once the alarm was raised, the police then arrived on the scene.

The officers stopped the two young women and found the stolen goods. The eldest - already known to the police for crimes against property - was stopped and taken to a center for minors in Genoa. The twelve-year-old, not attributable given her age, was instead entrusted to some relatives residing in France.

The stolen goods were recovered, together with the tools used in the burglary.
