Gynecological practice not only for women opens in Bologna: controversy ensues

In Bologna, a new service has been launched in recent days: a People's Gynecological Laboratory. Its presentation on the social media channels of the Municipality and, in particular, the passage of a post in which it talks about a space designed to respond to the needs of the most vulnerable segments of the population including "women and people with the ability to bear children" is raising, in these hours, criticism from exponents of the center-right, such as the group leader of Fratelli d'Italia in the Chamber of Deputies, Galeazzo Bignami and of Pro Vita & Famiglia.

"The sense of the ridiculous of the woke culture that permeates the left," observes the Fdi representative in a note, "is limitless. Today it is the turn of an initiative by the Municipality of Bologna led by the Democratic Party dedicated to "women and people with the capacity to bear children." I had missed the existence of people other than women with "the capacity to bear children."

In Bignami's opinion, "the Municipality does not even realize the offensive charge that these words bring to women who in fact are indignantly reporting to me this communication that appeared on the social networks of the Authority. But in this regard", he concludes, "do the feminists who defended women's rights have nothing to say?"

On social media, the Bologna municipal administration, in recent days, had written about the Laboratorio gynecologico popolare, as "a new safe, welcoming, accessible and inclusive space, capable of promoting local health and providing concrete answers to those who cannot access local services. The space - it reads - was designed to respond to the needs of the most vulnerable segments of the population, with particular attention to people with sexual and reproductive health needs (women and people with childbearing capacity, young people called Neet 'Not in Education, Employment or Training', people with a migrant background), offering them concrete opportunities for listening, support, inclusion and orientation".
