The stories of girls who have suffered sexual abuse on New Year's Eve in Piazza Duomo in Milan by dozens of boys, mostly foreigners, who have moved with the logic of a pack, are multiplying.
At the moment there are at least five cases of aggression on which the deputy prosecutor Letizia Mannella and the prosecutor Alessia Menegazzo, in the investigation of the Mobile Squad, are investigating with the hypothesis of "group sexual violence" in ways that recall what happened in Cologne 6 years ago, when hundreds of men, acting in small groups, abused dozens of women, including to rob them.
On the night of December 31, the girls were surrounded, even stripped and forced to suffer physical violence by dozens of people, including perhaps minors. This is demonstrated by the videos that have ended up on the net.
What happened in the Lombard capital, in a square and in the side streets manned by the police to avoid gatherings, is "a very serious and unprecedented fact", was reported in the Prosecutor's Office, and the investigations now, with the analyzes of all videos and new assessments on complaints for thefts and robberies that night, aim to identify and punish all the perpetrators, dozens of "second generation" children, some arriving from outside Milan, others who frequent the central areas of the city.
"A very serious fact not worthy of our city", said the mayor Giuseppe Sala. "Discovering and stopping the members of the 'pack' that was responsible for such violence - he added - is the best answer we can give to the victims. I want to express my full support to them".
THE INVESTIGATIONS - The first case that emerged is that of a 19 year old attacked by about thirty young people around 1.30am. It also happened to a friend, who was also "isolated" at first and then surrounded by the same pattern. In addition, there are concrete elements in the case of another girl and yesterday a new video of abuse of two German 20-year-olds emerged. "We tried to push them away, my friend hit them and slapped them but they laughed and continued to harass us, I had 15 hands on me", one of the two told ANSA (they filed a complaint in Mannheim).
"The police saw us and did nothing - is his accusation - I don't know why, it was shocking, because they can't not have seen us". The video, he continued, "is only the final part of an assault that lasted 10 minutes". Investigators and investigators work tirelessly: the analysis activities have already led to identifications with entries in the register of suspects.
