Gerardina Corsano, the 46-year-old from Ariano Irpino (Avellino), did not die due to intoxication. She may have been poisoned .

This is the hypothesis regarding the death of the woman, who died last October 31st in hospital after eating a pizza : there was talk of suspected food poisoning, which was ruled out by the results of the autopsy and the tests in the laboratories of the Higher Institute of Health.

The woman would have been poisoned. And with her also her husband Angelo Meninno , 52 years old, who however would have come into contact with a smaller quantity of poisonous substance and therefore would have been saved, he too had been hospitalized.

Maria Amalia Capitano, prosecutor of the Benevento Prosecutor's Office who coordinates the investigations, ordered the seizure of the mobile phones of all the spouses' family members .

The magistrate's provision does not lend itself to particular investigative interpretations, as qualified sources know, but in fact it theoretically opens up new possible scenarios and developments. The criminal lawyer Gerardo Giorgione, who represents the brothers and mother of Gerardina Corsano, explains the magistrate's provision thus: «Excluding botulinum intoxication, the Prosecutor's Office is evaluating further investigation profiles» .

For the moment there are three people registered in the register of suspects: the two owners of the pizzeria (already released from seizure in recent days) and a doctor from the Frangipane hospital in Avellino who, between 29 and 31 October, had visited the couple twice signing the resignation.
