A footprint of Andrea Sempio near the spot where the body of Chiara Poggi, killed in Garlasco on August 13, 2007, was found.
This is what Tg1 reveals. The imprint of a hand compatible with that of Sempio, who at the time frequented the villa on Via Pascoli as a friend of the victim's brother, is on the wall of the stairs leading to the tavern . This can be read in the new fingerprint report ordered by the Pavia Prosecutor's Office.
"It is logical and factual that the fingerprint on the stairwell wall belongs to the murderer," wrote the Carabinieri of the Milan Investigative Unit in a July 2020 note, speaking of that "papillary contact number 33," that is, the fingerprint that is now attributed to Sempio and, at the time of the first investigations into the 2007 Garlasco murder, had been defined as "totally useless for a dactyloscopic examination."
A dramatic turn of events, therefore, a new element emerges against Sempio, who today did not appear at the Prosecutor's Office for questioning, contesting a procedural defect.
He is not the only one: there are other elements collected that make us suspect Sempio, although he has always proclaimed his innocence. We start from the DNA extracted from Chiara's nails, once "anonymous" and that the analyses carried out in the last two years, both by Stasi's defense and by the prosecutors, attribute to him. On that profile there will be new tests in the context of an evidentiary incident ordered by the Pavia investigating judge Daniela Garlaschelli, which will also concern his palm print.
Then there are the three suspicious calls to the Poggi home landline justified as an attempt to contact Marco. According to the investigators, however, Sempio knew that Marco was on vacation because the night before Chiara's brother left, he was with him. Finally, the alleged inconsistencies on the parking receipt in Vigevano dated August 13, 2007 and delivered to the investigators a year later, almost as if he wanted to pre-establish an alibi.
If Sempio did not show up, Alberto Stasi, who was definitively sentenced to 16 years and is currently on semi-liberty, was interrogated today in Pavia. Stasi answered all the questions and his lawyer, Antonio De Rensis, said that today was "very positive". Stasi said that he did not know Andrea Sempio, he had never seen him, and did not know what he looked like . When Alberto was asked if he knew if Sempio frequented the villa and in which areas, he was told about that palm print which, according to a report by the prosecutors, is Sempio's.
In Mestre , Marco Poggi, Chiara's brother and Andrea Sempio's friend, was heard as a witness . The questioning of Chiara's brother, and the contextual questioning - later skipped - of Andrea Sempio, served to clarify how much Sempio really was at home in the Poggi villa and what his relationship with Chiara was.
"Marco Poggi calmly answered the questions that were asked of him. He is linked to Andrea Sempio by a long-standing friendship and the conviction that he was not involved in the tragic event that shocked his family ," reads a note from Francesco Compagna, the Poggi family's lawyer.
