Luca Spada, the former Red Cross ambulance driver accused by the Forlì Prosecutor's Office of killing elderly patients being transported in an ambulance , has been ordered to stand trial immediately . The hearing has been scheduled in the Forlì Assize Court for October 15.

The trial concerns the death of Deanna Mambelli , 85, who died on November 25, 2025, and whose family is represented by lawyers Max Starni and Massimo Mambelli. This is the murder for which Spada is being held under pre-trial detention. Investigations are still ongoing for five other alleged deaths . Spada is being defended by lawyers Marco Martines and Gloria Parigi.

"The decree for immediate trial finally opens the trial before the Court of Assizes, and this is what we have been waiting for," the deceased's lawyers said. "The injured parties will join the civil action and will face the trial without hesitation: the evidence gathered by the investigators is exceptionally substantial, and we have no fear of being scrutinized by the court . We trust that the trial will give Deanna Mambelli and her family the truth they deserve."
