Unpublished for eighteen years, the photos documenting the moment in which Andrea Sempio, now under investigation for the murder of Chiara Poggi, showed up, twice, at the scene where the Carabinieri of his partner from Vigevano, the prosecutor and the victim's relatives were converging after what happened on that fateful 13th August 2007, have been published on the Bugalalla Crime channel of YouTuber Francesca Bugamelli.
The first photo, taken at 3:53 PM, shows Sempio at the wheel of the family car. The last shot dates back to 4:13 PM that afternoon: in the foreground, with her back turned, is the victim's mother, Maria Rita Poggi, walking while two police officers are holding red and white tape at the intersection of Via Pascoli and Via Pavia.
A few steps away are Andrea Sempio and his father. At 3:54 PM, twins Stefania and Paola Cappa appear on the scene, the latter with a crutch. Among the photos from that afternoon are three close-ups of Maria Rosa Poggi, the twins' mother.
The Carabinieri of the Milan Investigative Unit and the Pavia Public Prosecutor's Office have decided to acquire the original documents, summoning the photographer who, passing through Garlasco at the time, took those images.
During the previous investigation, Sempio said that "while driving along Via Pavia, when I reached Via Pascoli, I noticed an ambulance and some people. I thought maybe something had happened."
He and his father, in the car together, didn't stop. "Around 4:00 PM, if I remember correctly, intending to take a drive, out of pure curiosity I drove back in my car along Via Pavia and, reaching Via Pascoli, I found several Carabinieri cars and emergency vehicles, as well as a multitude of people. I stopped and, getting out of the car, tried to get some information. I remember speaking to a woman who identified herself as a journalist and informed me that a young woman had been found dead inside her home ."
From the intersection, it was difficult to determine in which house the incident had occurred. I didn't immediately connect the news with Marco's sister, even though shortly afterward, some people present began to point to Chiara Poggi as the deceased. I returned to my home and notified my father. With him, I returned to Via Pascoli, where, having heard several people present say so, we were certain that the deceased was Chiara Poggi .
Giuseppe Sempio, interviewed on February 15, 2017, confirmed: "We passed Via Pascoli and saw perhaps the ambulance, or perhaps a police car, but we went home. Then my son went out and came back a while later to tell me he'd heard what had happened. So we went out together again and returned to the crime scene where we gathered information."
"These photos, including the metadata," comments Andrea Sempio's lawyer, Angela Taccia, " confirm what Andrea Sempio has always maintained and reiterated. This is another piece of evidence that supports the veracity of his story ."
