Two more Covid vaccines will arrive in Italy at the beginning of 2022. Aifa general manager Nicola Magrini told Sky: "For Novavax and Valneva, this week's evaluation by Ema is expected for the first and then, shortly after, for the second".

So "in the first months of next year we could have the availability of these vaccines, it is good that there is a further vaccination offer both for the unwarranted skeptics (who must not be skeptical of RNA vaccines because they have proved to be safe), and because they can become easier to use ".

At the same time, "we are studying whether to modify vaccines on the basis of existing variants".

But why might the new vaccines convince skeptics? The Novavax, made in the USA, exploits the technology of recombinant proteins, is therefore based on an ancient technology more accepted by skeptics: it has been in use for some time against diseases such as whooping cough, hepatitis B, Hpv, meningococcus B. The molecules assemble themselves forming viral-like particles on the basis of which the organism produces the immune response. According to the company, the effectiveness is around 90%. It also has a very low cost and can be kept in the fridge, so it can solve the vaccination problem in poor countries.

The Franco-Austrian Valneva is based on the inactivated virus which stimulates the immune response. It essentially contains the "killed" SarsCov2 virus, which cannot cause disease but triggers the immune response.

Two completely different vaccines compared to both Pfizer and Moderna (mRna) and those of AstraZeneca and J&J (viral vector). In particular, those in mRna, first with this technology, have given way to the most disparate and bizarre theories by conspiracy theorists: "They modify our DNA", "they command us from within", "they inject us with the microchip", "they do not they are vaccines, it is experimental gene therapy ".
