Reporters and cameramen in front of the horror house on Via Deledda in Avetrana, but no trace of Michele Misseri . The 69-year-old who yesterday morning at 7.17am left Borgo San Nicola prison in Lecce, where he served an 8-year sentence for the suppression of the body of his niece Sarah Scazzi, in his home, abandoned for years, did not return.

Uncle Michele, however , once again accused himself of the murder in an interview with La Stampa, reiterating that his first version of events provided to the investigators was the correct one and that his wife and daughter sentenced to life imprisonment - Cosima Serrano and Sabrina Misseri - they are in prison as innocents.

« It was me – he reiterated – I told a lie when I accused my daughter. I have been confessed a thousand and a thousand times ." He wrote many letters to Cosima and Sabrina "to ask for forgiveness, but I never received a reply".

After leaving prison Michele Misseri got into the white jeep of his lawyer, Luca La Tanza, and then seemed to have vanished into thin air. «I felt freer inside, but outside I feel imprisoned» are the first words spoken after his release and reported by his lawyer. «He expressed his desire - said La Tanza - not to speak to anyone for a few days. I left him with someone he knows and I don't know where he went. He certainly won't go to the house in via Deledda today and maybe not even tomorrow ."

Sarah Scazzi, according to the reconstruction of the investigators, was killed by Sabrina and Cosima in the garage of the house in Via Deledda, then her body was hidden in an underground well, full of water, in the Mosca district, by Michele Misseri who provided countless versions of the crime, first accusing himself, then implicating Sabrina and subsequently placing all responsibility on his daughter.

The motive could be traced back to disagreements and sentimental rivalries between the two cousins, both in love with their mutual friend Ivano Russo.

In the meantime, in Avetrana they are ready to welcome Uncle Michele "to play a game of cards with him", because he "has atoned for his sentence and it is right that he returns to his life". And, above all, they say "enough of the media circus, we want to maintain our peace of mind".

No comment from Concetta Serrano, Sarah's mother, immersed in her silent pain: "I ask to be left in peace" .

Via Deledda, closed to vehicular traffic, was patrolled by police and carabinieri. No crowds of onlookers, just journalists looking for an interview. The entrance to the house is still covered by a frayed black cloth. It seems that in recent days the inside of the house has been cleaned and the electricity has been restored. A sister-in-law also brought some clean clothes because sooner or later Michele Misseri will return to that house. And the cameras are ready to immortalize that moment .
