When the fire brigade put out the flames, in the apartment in via Libertà in Borgosesia (Vercelli) where a fire had developed, they made the macabre discovery by recovering the charred body of a woman.

The victim is an 81-year-old and her caregiver, who managed to save herself, triggered the alarm.

The carabinieri and the local police also intervened on the spot.
