First he drugged them until they lost consciousness. Then he raped them and photographed them while they were helplessly subjected to sexual acts.
A 59-year-old garbage collector was arrested by the Viterbo police together with colleagues from the capital because they were accused of sexual violence and illicit dissemination of sexually explicit images or videos , committed in Capranica (VT), Riano (RM) and Mazzano Romano (RM), in the period between September 2022 and January 2023. At least three women were victims. But there could be others.
The investigation began when one of the three, who showed up at the San Pietro hospital in Rome, reported him. The woman told officers that she had met the attacker on social media. After a brief acquaintance, she invited him home for an evening. The next day, however, she realized that she had been heavily drugged and raped, as later confirmed by medical investigations.
Investigators managed to identify the man and during a search they seized a pack of sedative hypnotic drug and his smartphone.
Inside there was evidence that he had done the same thing with at least two other women, photographed unconscious - as was the third - while they were subjected to sexual violence. Some of these images had been sent to friends and commented on in an ironic and contemptuous tone. Unlike the third victim, neither of them remembered anything, as demonstrated by subsequent conversations on the phone.
The suspect was tracked down in Rome, in the Casilino district, at the home of a new partner and transferred to the Regina Coeli prison. Further investigations are underway to see if he raped other people.
