Three people were killed and two were injured in a shooting that arose from a degenerate argument that occurred during the night between Saturday and Sunday in the center of Monreale (Palermo). The people involved were all young people, between the ages of 16 and 33. One of them was a simple passerby.

The victims are Andrea Miceli, 26 years old, Salvatore Turdo, 23 years old, and Massimo Pirozzo, also 26 years old.

The gunshots were fired in the crowded Piazza Duomo, in front of at least a hundred witnesses. According to an initial reconstruction, everything started after a fight broke out for trivial reasons in front of a pizzeria . Then the two groups of young people faced each other in the square. One of the protagonists of the attack, armed with a gun, started shooting into the crowd. For three young people, the rescue efforts were useless, while the injured are in very serious conditions.

The investigations are being conducted by the Carabinieri.
