On that bike , purchased only a few days before the tragic accident, there was something wrong .

This was established by the technical report requested by the carabinieri and the Trento prosecutor's office after the road accident in August 2021 in which Sandro Prada, 51, and his thirteen-year-old daughter Elisa died .

The owner of the dealership where the motorcycle was purchased and the two mechanics employed are under investigation for multiple manslaughter .

According to investigators , the bike was poorly assembled , with one of the front brake caliper bolts being mounted incorrectly and coming out of its housing, causing it to malfunction .

THE ACCIDENT - That dramatic day Sandro and Elisa were riding on the provincial road 83 near Baselga di Piné. On a downhill hairpin , the 51-year-old lost control of the vehicle and ended up on a cliff . The impact had been fatal for both of them.

Before the rescuers arrived, their wife and other daughter had found them . The woman, worried because she had no news from the afternoon at 4 pm and because her husband and daughter did not answer the phone, had used an application installed on the 13-year-old's smartphone that allows localization with GPS. Rescuers arrived later.

Assuming the mechanical failure , the carabinieri and the Trento prosecutor's office decided to have a technical report carried out.
