Crowd at the solemn funeral of Maurizio Costanzo – who died on Friday at the age of 84 – which was celebrated in the Church of the Artists, in Piazza del Popolo in Rome .

The widow Maria De Filippi entered the church holding the hand of her adopted son Gabriele and, at the end of the ceremony, greeted the coffin in tears, her face hidden by a pair of large sunglasses.

Also among the VIPs present Valerio Scanu , Paolo Sorrentino, Gerry Scotti, Giancarlo Giannini, Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia, Fiorella Mannoia, Massimo Lopez, Tullio Solenghi, Pio and Amedeo. But thousands of people followed the funeral on a giant screen.

Many have considered you a father », the words of Camilla, the eldest daughter of Maurizio Costanzo. «You leave us an important legacy, your greatest teaching, humility. THE ARDENT CHAMBER – On Saturday and Sunday, many people crowded the hall of the Promoteca in the Campidoglio for the last tribute to the TV host, amidst tears, emotion and some unusual requests for selfies from the widow Maria De Filippi . Many VIPs wanted to greet Costanzo for the last time, from Fiorello to Mara Venier, from Valerio Mastandrea to Lino Banfi. Representatives of the institutions were also present, including the mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, the former president of the Lazio Region Nicola Zingaretti and the former first citizens Francesco Rutelli - who arrived together with his wife Barbara Palombelli - and Virginia Raggi.
