Ten thousand people are expected tomorrow in Padua, in the Basilica of Santa Giustina, for the final farewell to Giulia Cecchettin.

The gates to access the chi esa will be open from 9am and those who are unable to enter will be able to follow from the giant screens set up in Prato della Valle and on live TV. The streets of the center around Santa Giustina and Prato della Valle will be armored, closed to traffic and off limits for any commercial activity.

Even Filippo Turetta, the self-confessed ex-boyfriend, could be among the thousands of people who will attend the funeral via live television. Locked up since November 25th in Montorio prison (Verona), he enjoys the same rights as all other prisoners and therefore can read and watch TV. Turetta is currently in a cell with another inmate , a man between 50 and 60 years old who had previously taken care of the most difficult inmates in Montorio: a sort of supervisor who, at the request of Montorio's management, agreed to stay in the cell with Filippo , to follow him and prevent him from committing extreme acts.

Meanwhile, the blow-up of the Venetian student, which has remained on display in recent weeks in front of the town hall of Vigonovo, has been taken to the Basilica , the oldest place of worship in the city and one of the largest in Christianity.

There is anticipation above all for the words that father Gino will pronounce: «We have chosen a large church - he said - so that a message of great participation arrives». Governor Luca Zaia proclaimed regional mourning. «I make an appeal to the Venetians: let's give a signal during Giulia's funeral. Whoever can, lower the shutter, whoever can, turn off the lights at 11, for 5, 10 minutes or even for an hour."
