A 22-year-old man is hospitalized in critical condition at Mazzini Hospital in Teramo after being stabbed in the chest by his 55-year-old aunt, who defended herself from the attack during a dinner at her grandparents' home, both of whom were present at the incident. The young man has a punctured lung, and the stab wound grazed his heart. The incident occurred last night in Castel Castagna, in the hamlet of Castagna Bassa, in the province of Teramo.

According to initial reconstructions, the woman was struck on the head with a ceramic plate, resulting in a large lacerated wound. The woman's elderly father, 87, and the young man's grandfather, attempting to defend his daughter during the scuffle, fell to the ground, fracturing his femur. A key witness to the incident is the elderly grandmother, who tried in vain to stop her grandson's fury by hitting him with her cane.

Immediately after being stabbed, the 22-year-old attempted to flee on a scooter, but after a few meters he collapsed on the street due to profuse bleeding, requiring emergency medical assistance. All those involved in the incident are currently hospitalized in Teramo.

The Carabinieri seized two knives from the home, including the bloody one that the aunt herself had left in the garden after throwing it out the window. Prosecutor Davide Rosati has already heard the elderly woman's testimony to reconstruct the exact circumstances, but the formulation and distinction of the charges will await the outcome of the investigation.
