A company fired an employee because, by constantly visiting porn sites during working hours, it caused a breach in the computer system, where the hackers then entered, creating big trouble. And the court agreed to the company, after the affair - which took place in Venice - ended up in the courtrooms.

"Considering in fact - wrote the labor judge of the lagoon city - that these are repeated and prolonged activities that have engaged the worker for a long time and carried out by an employee with the role of head of the agency service, therefore strictly trustee and responsibility, the dismissal appears proportionate ".

The facts date back to 2019. The target of the cyber pirates was a maritime agency, which had its IT system blocked by anonymous pirates who then asked for a ransom.

Having resolved the situation, the same agency then recruited an expert, who discovered that the system problems were created by the unsafe pages visited by an employee, among other things with responsibility duties, who spent a lot of time on hot sites. visiting dangerous pages.

Hence the dismissal and the subsequent lawsuit, with the company which - as mentioned - has been fully justified.
