She died on her birthday after eating sushi.

Tragedy in the Soccavo district, in Naples . The victim, Rossella Di Fuorti, mother of two children, according to a reconstruction had eaten a meal in a restaurant in the Fuorigrotta district that prepares sushi and other oriental dishes. When she returned home , she first accused vomiting, then collapsed and died without help being able to do anything for her.

Only the autopsy will be able to tell the truth about what happened and whether there could be a direct correlation between the sushi-based lunch and what happened upon returning home . Of the people who ate with her, none complained of illness.

An investigation into the case was immediately launched by the Naples public prosecutor's office . The Nas carabinieri, appointed by the prosecutors, took samples from the restaurant where the meal was eaten, seized food samples and listened to the people with whom the victim had lunch. As a precaution , the restaurant business was suspended.

The death of Rossella Di Fuorti recalls the story of Luca Piscopo , the 15-year-old boy who died in November 2021 after eating sushi in a restaurant in Vomero. The young man also lived in Soccavo . In that case, according to what emerged from the autopsy, myocarditis generated by salmonella caused the death.
