The body of Yahya Hkimi, the 18-year-old who disappeared since Wednesday in the Secchia river in Marzaglia di Modena, has been found.
The lifeless body was identified by firefighters in a bend in the river, about five hundred meters downstream from the place where he had disappeared. Following the magistrate's clearance, it was recovered and made available to forensic medicine.
The 18-year-old dived in a spot where the current was very strong, while a friend filmed him. When he realized that Yahya was no longer sticking out of the water, he immediately alerted the rescuers. He told them that the 18-year-old, after some time spent together on the shore, had asked him to film him while he pretended to be carried away by the current .
The images first show the 18-year-old standing still in the water, then crouching down, finally disappearing.
For days, firefighters have been pounding the river, with divers' rafts, and sounding the banks, going further downstream of the artificial waterfall near where Yahya had entered the water.
