The Colbricon hotel, in Trentino, defends itself after the complaint of Cecilia Bonaccorsi, mother of Tommaso , the 24-year-old who is blind and suffering from Norrie syndrome who was allegedly removed from the restaurant of the hotel because "customers complain".
In a note, the staff said they were "extremely sorry for what happened" and specified that "nothing was done in bad faith or with discriminatory intent".
«Since the hotel Colbricon Beauty & Relax, as a structure that has been operating in the hotel sector for over 40 years, has the priority of guaranteeing the well-being of all its guests, some customers have turned to the managers to ask for greater tranquillity, because of the yelling in the dining room. For this reason, the owner suggested that Cecilia and Remo move to an intimate, cozy room, in which a glass mosaic stands out as a decorative element. Not, as has been written, a tinted window or a room in which to isolate Thomas ; on the contrary, a place where Tommaso was guaranteed the utmost discretion and the possibility of expressing himself freely.
The hotel owner apologizes for the misunderstood gesture . It was not his intent to offend anyone's sensibilities, which is why he immediately attempted to open a dialogue with the people involved, for now without results. The entire staff of the Colbricon hotel renews its apologies to Tommaso's family and its thanks to the guests , colleagues and friends who have supported them in these difficult hours, in which they have been overwhelmed by a real media storm and criticisms often unfounded as they come from people unrelated to the facts".
