The Rt transmissibility index and the incidence of Covid cases in Italy still rise. According to the data of the weekly ISS-Ministry of Health monitoring under examination by the control room, the incidence referred to yesterday, January 6, is in fact equal in Italy to 1669 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants. A figure that is about double the value of 783 last week.
The Rt instead rises to 1.43 from the value of 1.18 of the previous survey, therefore a sharp increase and well above the epidemic threshold.
The transmissibility index based on cases with hospitalization is also significantly increasing, passing from 1.1 to 1.3.
The employment rate in intensive care, nationwide, is 15.4% (daily survey by the Ministry of Health as of January 6) compared to 12.9% as of December 30. In Sardinia the value stood at 11% (+ 2%).
The employment rate in medical areas rises in the national figure to 21.6% (survey as of January 6) compared to the 17.1% previously reported. In Sardinia it is stable at 11%.
In Italy, 10 Regions / PPAAs are classified as "high risk", of which 3 due to the impossibility of evaluation. 11 Regions / PPAAs are classified as "moderate risk" and, among these, six Regions / PPAAs are "highly likely to progress to high risk".
Almost all regions report at least one single resilience alert and ten regions report multiple resilience alerts.
There was a sharp increase in the number of new cases not associated with transmission chains (309,903 compared to 124,707 in the previous week). The percentage of cases detected through the appearance of symptoms is increasing (50% vs 48%) and the percentage of cases diagnosed through screening activities is also increasing (34% vs 31%).
