Patrizia de Blanck died in Rome at the age of 85. Her daughter Giada announced the news in a long post on Instagram .
"With immense sorrow, I announce the passing of my mother, Countess Patrizia De Blanck. My mother was an iconic figure, who marked an era of elegance, romance, and authenticity. With her, an irreplaceable chapter in my life and an entire era closes. Her courage, strength, and light will live on forever in me. I thank those who loved her. Rest in peace, Mom, forever in my heart," he wrote.
It's so difficult for me to write this message; I don't even have the strength to speak. Those who know me know that my mother was everything to me. We had a wonderful relationship: she was my best friend, my role model, my life . I dedicated my life to her with love, care, determination, and dedication, and many times we managed to win together, and often I managed to save her. This time, despite doing the impossible and fighting with all my strength, it wasn't enough. I hoped, as I have always done, that, as the warriors we have always been, we would win this battle too with the strength of love. I faced a very difficult and painful journey without breaking, for myself and for her, trying to instill strength and love in her until the very end.
She continues: "By choice , I lived everything in silence and privacy, in an extremely delicate and terrible time for both of us, protecting her from everything, from her devastating illness, and facing the pain away from everyone. I am deeply affected by this difficult and painful journey and torn by a suffering that cannot be explained: with her, a part of me has gone. I will live for two, that is my promise. I will live for her, who lives inside me and in my heart forever. Not even death can separate us."
Patrizia De Blanck, daughter of Cuban ambassador Guillermo De Blanck y Menocal, was born on November 9, 1940. With the arrival of Fidel Castro, she moved to Rome and began a career as a showgirl and television showgirl on the program 'Il Musichiere'.
After decades away from television, she returned to the small screen with "Chiambretti c'è." She then appeared on reality shows (L'Isola dei Famosi and Big Brother VIP) and appeared as a commentator on programs hosted by Barbara D'Urso.
She had married twice: in 1960 to the English baronet Anthony Leigh Milne, a marriage that ended after a few months "because I found him in bed with a man" and in 1971 to the Panamanian consul Giuseppe Drommi, with whom she had her only daughter Giada in 1981.
