Alessandro Albertoni, one of the two definitively sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment for attempted group rape as part of the investigation into the death of the Genoese student Martina Rossi , is among the winners in Arezzo with the Coni merits for previous sporting merits as Italian motocross champion.

On October 7, 2021, the Supreme Court confirmed for Albertoni and the other accused, Luca Vanneschi, the sentence imposed by the Florence Court of Appeal in the bis process: "The circumstantial elements that the process has painstakingly acquired" are "all converging in the '' to state, beyond any reasonable doubt, that Martina Rossi on the morning of 3 August 2011 fell from room 609 of the Santa Ana hotel in Palma de Mallorca in a desperate attempt to escape a sexual assault committed against her by both defendants ", the appellate judges wrote in the sentence.
