Four bodies recovered including the lorry driver Luigi Coclite, one missing person, three injured people who are responding well to treatment : this is the temporary toll of the terrible collapse that occurred on Friday morning in the Esselunga supermarket under construction in Florence .

And the search continues unabated, under the rubble, for the last body , that of Bouzekri Rachimi, 56 years old, originally from Morocco. The other three dead are North Africans like him: their names were Mohamed Toukabri, a 54-year-old Tunisian, Mohamed El Ferhane, 24 years old, and Taoufik Haidar, 45 years old, both fellow Moroccans. These four foreign workers lived, all in Lombardy.

Haidar had previously lived in Bastia Umbra (Perugia) and had also been enrolled in Fillea CGIL, then he moved to Palazzolo sull'Oglio (Brescia), so he had been in Chiuduno (Bergamo) for two months. El Ferhane also lived in Palazzolo. They knew them well. The owner of an Islamic butcher's shop in the town has started a fundraiser to help the families of the victims.

And in all the torment it emerges that perhaps two of them did not have regular documents : the residence permits are not in order and investigations are underway.

Within the investigation for multiple manslaughter by the Florence prosecutor's office, the use of irregular labor in the controversial sea of subcontracted work therefore opens up new hypotheses of crime alongside the original one, linked to the cause of the cyclopic structural failure of the floors under construction.

"There is an investigation underway and I can't say anything," said Mayor Nardella on the presence of irregular workers before announcing that the Minister of Labor, Marina Elvira Calderone, is expected at the construction site today.

All the recovered bodies are now at the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Careggi available to the prosecutor's office for a possible autopsy , while yesterday the investigators heard from witnesses, technicians and representatives of the companies .

The investigation, it is likely, will be accompanied by technical reports . Giani himself highlights the hypothesis that a beam was not made to perfection or that it was assembled poorly.

The construction site has meanwhile been placed under seizure and a ban on overflight , at 300 feet above sea level, also to avoid the curious eye of drones in a sensitive scenario due to the judicial implications it brings with it.

The area is very unstable and the searches for the missing person, as well as the removal of materials, must be done slowly even if a dog from the USAR, the units that search for bodies in the rubble, has reported where the last victim could be, encouraging the rescuers to indulge him.
