The single judge of Rome sentenced Andrea Piazzolla, the former collaborator of Gina Lollobrigida, to 3 years accused of circumvention of an incompetent person for having stolen assets from the actress's estate between 2013 and 2018.

The Rome Prosecutor's Office had requested a 7 and a half year prison sentence for the accused.

«It's still painful, but the sentence brings justice. The truth is, however, that it really shouldn't have come to this", commented Milko Skofic, son of the actress, who died last January, after the sentence.

«This – added Skofic – is a bitter affair that really shouldn't have happened. I arrived psychologically empty at the sentence and I regret all the time I lost and the fact that I couldn't be next to my mother."
