They had been running like crazy for at least two days. And even after the crash they would have continued to make videos, triggering the reaction of the people who rushed to help.

The residents of Casal Palocco, a district of Rome where the accident occurred on Wednesday in which little five-year-old Manuel died and his mother and four-year-old sister were injured.

Among those who saw what happened, the chorus is unanimous: the fault lies entirely with those four guys from TheBorderline , a collective that is followed by over 600,000 followers for its social "performances".

The SUV, driven by 20-year-old youtuber Matteo Di Pietro, accused of aggravated road homicide and injuries , "went over to him, took the Smart from both sides and dragged it," says Valeria, an 18-year-old who witnessed the accident and who then repeats what everyone says: "They certainly ran, I didn't see how they took it, but I saw the bang". The girl also saw one of the boys get out of the car. «He was wearing a white T-shirt, he went to Smart to see if they were okay. But no one answered him." Then those cell phones in hand, even after the crash, a circumstance reported by several witnesses but still to be verified.

MANUEL'S FATHER - The father of the victim, Marco Proietti, cannot hold back the enormous pain and anger: «I wanted to express, with what remains of my heart, that of Elena and the little girl, thanks to you who have prayed, donated and even just thought of our Manuel snatched from this infamous world. We will love you forever!"

Duro il Moige, the Italian parent movement, which filed a formal request to close the TheBorderline channel due to the risk of emulation among young people. These are "dangerous contents that affect young people in a profoundly negative way" comments Antonio Affinita. And he adds: «In a few minutes the lives of many families were destroyed. There is a need for more civic and road education, starting with schools".

THE INVESTIGATIONS - Meanwhile, the Rome prosecutor's office has ordered a wide-ranging investigation into the accident, entrusting advice on the mobile phones of the five twenty-year-olds who were aboard the blue racing car : the car had been rented for a few days perhaps to carry out a challenge social media to be posted on the platform used by the collective.

The investigators' objective is primarily to verify whether there are videos shot in the phase before, during or even after the impact on Matteo Di Pietro's cell phone, the twenty-year-old suspect who was driving.

However, the public prosecutor in charge of the file, coordinated by the deputy Michele Prestipino, also asks the consultant for something else: an in-depth analysis of the phones of the other people, three boys and a girl, who were on board . Mobile devices are looking for chats, messages, exchanged between the boys or dialogues useful for investigations to reconstruct what happened on Wednesday around 4 pm in via di Macchia Saponara, in the southern quadrant of the capital.

Also ordered a series of searches: in the home of the suspect, in whose blood traces of cannabinoids were found and it is not excluded that the activity is linked to this, but also in the headquarters of the company TheBorderline, of which Di Matteo was a head of the Board and which had an annual turnover of around 190 thousand euros.
