Carol Maltesi murder: Fontana sentenced to life imprisonment
In the first instance, the banker accused of killing his ex-girlfriend was sentenced to 30 years, but the Court of Appeal has now recognized the aggravating circumstances of cruelty and premeditation
The Milan Court of Assizes of Appeal has sentenced Davide Fontana to life imprisonment , the 45-year-old banker who on 11 January 2022 killed his 25-year-old ex-girlfriend Carol Maltesi in her home in Rescaldina, in the Milan area, hitting her first in the head with a hammer and then cutting its throat.
At first instance he was sentenced to 30 years .
The Court of Assizes of Appeal of Milan, in sentencing Fontana, recognized the aggravating circumstances of
premeditation and cruelty, which had fallen in the first degree.
