A 43-year-old carabiniere, Daniele Caradio, died in a road accident that occurred yesterday evening in Budrio, in the Bologna area. He was riding his motorbike, a Ducati, when he collided with a car on Strada San Vitale, ending up on the ground after the very violent impact.

The driver of the car, a Tesla, was a 35-year-old woman, who suffered moderate injuries.

According to the local edition of Resto del Carlino, the soldier was employed by the Provincial Command of Bologna and was probably returning home to Medicina, where he lived with his family. At the time of the accident there was thick fog in the area and that stretch of road is apparently poorly lit. The local police of Budrio intervened for the investigations. 118 is also on site.

Caradio, originally from Bari and resident in Medicina, was chosen with a special qualification. At the time of the accident, he was returning home after finishing the tour of duty he had performed in the operations and logistics section of the provincial command.

In a note, the carabinieri of the Emilia-Romagna legion command and the provincial command of Bologna rally around the family members of their colleague who died in the road accident.
