The Campi Flegrei area remains under close surveillance and continues to worry, but for now the possibility of raising the alert has been averted, which therefore remains yellow , even if a worsening cannot be ruled out.

" It is difficult to think that the earth will not start to rise again - the words of the president of the INGV, Carlo Doglioni -, but at the moment there is no evidence of an increase in danger."

The citizens who reside in the Campania area, which has always been at high seismic risk, are anything but calm. Today the Minister of Civil Protection Nello Musumeci met with the mayors of the area: " There is no alarm, it must be said clearly " , he said at the end of the meeting.

However, the same minister in the morning, in a hearing at the Environment Commission in the Chamber, had cited the minutes of the Major Risks Commission - dating back to about ten days ago - underlining that " we must prepare for the possible need to quickly move towards a higher alert level compared to yellow ".

No alarms, but maximum attention. For this reason, the exercises will be intensified , particularly in the red area, the perimeter of which was developed during the meeting with the local administrators. It is an area of 15 thousand buildings in which approximately 85 thousand people live . An area that includes part of the municipalities of Bacoli and Pozzuoli and a part of the metropolitan city of Naples, such as the Posillipo plain.

Musumeci also explained to the Chamber that according to scientific analyses, it would also be the lava underground that causes the ground lifting phenomena and, therefore, the earthquakes whose frequency in recent months "has more than doubled" .
