Four people (father and son, the latter's girlfriend and a friend) were arrested in Bergamo on charges of murder and robbery in competition.

According to the carabinieri, they are responsible for the death of Angelo Bonomelli , entrepreneur of Trescore Balneario, founder of the homonymous funeral parlor and of the “Villa Ortensie” spa in Sant'Omobono, found lifeless three days ago in his car.

Initially it was thought of an illness. Instead, according to the investigators, he would have been drugged with a substance dissolved in a drink, to be robbed of a gold watch, money and cell phone.

The drug addict, however, would have had fatal consequences on the 80-year-old, who died instead of waking up.

The son of the entrepreneur gave the alarm, then the search and the discovery of the body by the military started.

The absence of money in his wallet and above all of his inseparable gold watch had triggered further investigations, culminating in the four arrests.

The four in prison are the man with whom Bonomelli had an appointment at the bar, 33, a 68-year-old retiree and two unemployed, a boy and a girl, 23 and 24, all Italians, residing in the Bergamo area and already known to law enforcement agencies for property crimes. The two young people got into his SUV with the entrepreneur, while the other two followed them in a small car.

The watch had already been taken to a local Gold Buyer, where it was recovered by the Arma soldiers, while the cell phone was still on one of the four arrested.
