The Senate Budget Committee has begun its deliberations on the budget . Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti is also participating.
After the League halted the pension regulations developed by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the minister decided to directly monitor the work, while the government's new amendment was submitted to the commission.
The provision includes resources for Transition 5.0 and the ZES (ZeS), severance pay measures, the €1.3 billion contribution from insurance companies, resources for the Housing Plan, and the refinancing of funds for the Messina Strait Bridge, following the latest decisions by the Court of Auditors.
Among the new provisions, the possibility of taking early retirement by accumulating contributions from supplementary pension plans is no longer available. This eliminates the provision introduced by last year's budget law, which would result in annual savings of up to €130.8 million in 2035 on pension expenditures in the coming years.
The amendment also eliminates the option, effective from 2025, to include, upon request, the value of one or more annuities from supplementary pension schemes for the sole purpose of reaching the monthly amounts required to access the old-age pension with at least 20 years of contributions and if one is fully within the contributory regime.
The Senate Budget Committee began its work at 10:00 this morning to attempt to finalize the bill and appoint the rapporteur today.
