The 5-month-old baby who was seriously injured in the collision between two cars that occurred yesterday afternoon in Montebello della Battaglia (Pavia), in the Oltrepò Pavese area, did not make it.
The child died this afternoon at the Policlinico San Matteo in Pavia, where he had been transported by 118 emergency workers. The injuries sustained by the child, who was in the back seat of one of the two cars involved in the collision with his mother, were too serious: the 35-year-old woman is currently hospitalized with a guarded prognosis.
The other two men involved in the accident are in less serious condition: one is the father of the young victim, who was driving. Traffic police are investigating the cause of the crash on the Casteggio-Voghera ring road.
According to leaked information, the mother was breastfeeding her baby at the time of the crash.
