A train conductor was stabbed by two people while checking tickets on board the regional train Genoa-Busalla, near the Rivarolo station.
The two attackers are a 21-year-old Egyptian and a 16-year-old Italian girl. According to the investigators' reconstruction, the employee asked them for their ticket: an argument ensued and at that point the train conductor made them get off. Once on the ground, the adult pulled out a knife and stabbed him twice in the abdomen.
The two were stopped by the Carabinieri of the Genoa radiomobile unit while the train conductor was rescued by the 118 personnel, who arrived with the medical car, and was transferred with red code to the Villa Scassi hospital.
An 8-hour strike has been called, from 9:00 to 17:00, by railway personnel from Trenitalia, Trenitalia Tper, Fs Security, Italo Ntv, Trenord. The unions of the sector Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uiltrasporti, Ugl Ferrovieri, Fast Confsal and Orsa Trasporti have called it.
The unions report that this is the latest in a long series of "attacks on mobile staff" recorded in recent months. And to date "no intervention to protect staff has been appreciated, nor has there been greater control of trains by the police", underline Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uiltrasporti, Ugl Ferrovieri, Fast Confsal and Orsa Trasporti.
