An ultralight plane crashes in the Viterbo area, killing two

An ultralight crashed in Vejano, in the province of Viterbo, during take-off. The first hypothesis is that of a technical failure.

Alessandro Pecora, 62 years old, CNR researcher, and Giosuè Cammarata, 58, died in the accident.

The ultralight left around 2pm yesterday afternoon from the Aeroclub Prenestino airfield in Rome and made a stop at the Vejano airfield. The plane crashed about a kilometer from the runway and caught fire in an inaccessible area, so the 118 helicopter had to intervene to recover the bodies.

The Viterbo firefighters and the Ronciglione carabinieri were on site.
